Hopkins Airport
Treycon Unit-Air Traffic Control Tower
Cleveland, OH
The roof job in itself was text book. The challenge was working quietly so as not to distract the air traffic controllers. The re-roof was spawned by a heavy rain storm which caused the existing roof to leak badly and the air traffic controllers to walk off the job. The result was passenger and air freight delivery delays and cost the airport millions of dollars.
A.W. Farrell and Tremco were contacted and partnered to do an emergency roof replacement as quickly as possible. The controllers had returned to work by now and in order not to distract them, the tear off operations were done at night when plane traffic was minimal. The roof job was competed in 3 days with only minor disturbances. Hopkins Airport received a zero punch list.
